Alberta Clark Holman was born September 17, 1934 to the late Warren Clark and Jessie Thomas in Heflin Alabama. Alberta entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was a faithful member of Rose Line Baptist Church in Millerville Alabama and completed her education in Ashland, Alabama.
Alberta and her sister Eartha relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 1950. It was there, she met her husband Lonnie Duerson Holman. They married on March 7, 1953 and had six beautiful children. Alberta and her family lived in Chicago for 19 years. They relocated to Louisville KY in 1969. She worked for Jefferson County Board of Education for 25 years.
She enjoyed traveling, going to the Casino and Peddlers Mall. Alberta was a social butterfly and loved talking to people and making new friends everywhere she went. She was an amazing cook, her specialties were greens, hot water cornbread, beans and cabbage.
Alberta was a God fearing woman she loved freely and was always honest.
Alberta leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Diane Holman Yocum, Lonnie Wayne Holman, Debra Ann Howard, Brenda Lee Holman, Pamela Marie Holman and Victor Lamont Holman. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lonnie Holman and siblings, J.C. Thomas, Eartha Hayes, Clara Townsend, Rosie Lee Simmons, Argentine Thomas and Willie Fred Wilson two grandchildren Gulianna Harris and Terrance Jordan.
