Aaron Lee Alvey

Aaron Lee Alvey, 72, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of Local #522 and had worked for Philip Morris for 27 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of Moose Lodge #5 and also an active member of the Ohio Valley Drag Racers, along with enjoying golf and Nascar racing. He had been a member of Shively Baptist Church and recently had attended Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Edna Parsons Alvey; and siblings, Robert Alvey and Martha Benson.

Left cherishing his memory is his loving wife of 14 years, Susan Powell Alvey; children, Mark A. (Leigh Ann) and Matt W.(Cindy) Alvey, Staci L. (David) Yakimovicz, Shannon Stewart, Steven Stallings Jr.; grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Cody, Victoria, Olivia, Logan, Sophia, Ashley and Jenny; brothers, Ray (Barbara) Alvey and David Alvey, and sister, Darlene (Bill) Sims .

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. , at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
