On Monday, January 24, 2022, Larry Paul Garcia Sr., loving father of three children, passed away at age 60. Larry was born on April 06, 1961, in Glendale, CA to Mariano and Lydia Garcia. He attended high school at Abraham Lincoln Highschool in Los Angeles, CA. After graduation, Larry enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 18 where he was given an honorable discharge and eventually enlisted for a few years in the army reserves. Larry was also a very proud member of the V.F.W.
In 1985 Larry started working for the city of Los Angeles as a detention officer. Later in 1990, Larry decided to become a Police officer for the Los Angeles Police Department, eventually transferring to hollenback division where he retired after 30 years of service.
Larry had a passion for classic cars and motorcycles. He was an active member of the East Side Bombs Car Club. Larry had a talent for looking at an object, whether that was a classic car or an old house and was able to use his ideas to breathe new life into that object. With passion and creativity, he was able to make his custom visions a reality. Larry was the kind of man who would sit down with you to be a listening ear or to share a story and a good laugh. He was known for his lovable personality, his handsome smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Larry is survived by his three children, Larry Paul Garcia Jr., Cinthia Monique Garcia, Janine Paulette Arellano, his mother Lydia Garcia, sister Lorraine Sanchez, brother Richard Garcia, and four beautiful grandchildren, Jaeden, Skyla, Larry 3, and Cinthia.
A visitation for Larry will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2210 Sichecl St, Los Angeles, CA 90031. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at10:00 AM, 2210 Sichel St, Los Angeles, CA 90031. A graveside service to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 966 Potrero Grande Dr, Rosemead, CA 91770.
