To know her was to love her. A loving mother and friend to all. She was the common denominator to all of our best times. Her smile and laughter were contagious; and when she was around there was never a dull moment. To know even one life breathed easier because she lived is to know that she truly succeeded while here on Earth.
Theresa Ann Williams Walker, 66, of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, October 15, 2023. She was surrounded by her family as her journey here on Earth ended and she was joyfully welcomed into her heavenly home.
Theresa was born in Longview, Texas to Doug and Joanne Williams. She was the fourth child in a family of six and their second daughter. She was raised in a devout Catholic home and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she was baptized, confirmed, and educated. As an active member in her faith, Theresa was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was a proud member of the Pine Tree High School graduating class of 1976. She often shared fun memories of her times at PTHS and created life-long friendships that have withstood the test of time.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Williams, who passed away in 2017 and her brother, Paul Williams, who lost a battle with cancer in 2019.
She leaves behind a loving husband of 39 years, Robert Walker; daughter, Heather Robbins and husband Tom of Cedar Park, Texas; son, Brandon Gleason and wife Jessica of Diana, Texas; son, Ryan Walker and wife Tara of Longview, Texas; and daughter, Jordan Walker of Longview, Texas; her precious grandchildren Hunter Gleason, Emma Frith, Blake and Tyson Widon, Carter Frith, Reagan and Reece Robbins, Hudson Gleason, Aubrey Pillow, Mabry Walker and twins, Miller and Holden Walker, who all call her Favorite Granny. She is also survived by her siblings Mike and wife Theresa Williams, Pat and wife Dianne Williams, Mary Kay Williams, Tim and wife Kim Williams, and bonus siblings Connie Neunaber and Bob Billings. Theresa is also lovingly remembered by over forty nieces and nephews. Theresa also leaves behind the most faithful furry companion, Gus.
Our family is eternally grateful to the following health care professionals: Dr. Neeraj Sharma of Texas Oncology of Longview, Stephanie Silverman with Diagnostic Clinic of Longview, Dr. Ryan Huey of M.D. Anderson, Dr. William Rotzler, and Charley, Dee, and Wynette of Heart to Heart Hospice of Longview, and the amazing nurses and staff of Texas Oncology Longview who supported Theresa through her many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. All these individuals were comfort and support to her during the most difficult season of her life.
The family will be praying a rosary for Theresa on Friday, October 20 at 5:30 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home and Chapel, followed by visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 9:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Longview, Texas followed by a graveside service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family would like to invite friends and family to also join them for a celebration of life to toast Theresa at The Summit Club in Longview, Texas at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to join us in the fight against cancer and donate to the research fund of your choice. At this time, there is no cure for pancreatic cancer and no early detection methods to prevent this from happening to another amazing wife, mother, husband, father, sister, friend, or loved one.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.lakeviewfh.com for the Walker family.
