Born June 4th, 1956 to Euel and Marlena Smith in Bronte, TX, Mollie moved with her family to White Oak, TX where she spent most of her childhood. After graduating from White Oak High School, she received her associate degree from Kilgore College. Soon after, she found her true calling working as a letter carrier for the USPS for 25+ years. Her career allowed her to not only help provide for her family, but she was able to pursue her true passion which was serving people. She got the chance to invest in everyone she met on her routes. Between coworkers and customers, she made many lasting friendships and found many ways to share the love of Christ with the people she encountered.
On November 19, 1976, she married her husband of over 45 years Paul Upton. Together they built their lives around spending time with family, raising their children, and experiencing many exciting, happy, and challenging adventures. Mollie was a model of self-sacrificing love and commitment to all those who knew her. They have been long time members of White Oak United Methodist Church.
Mollie’s greatest joys were watching her children play various sports, playing games and camping with family, and spending time with her grandsons Luke and Chase.
Mollie was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Marlena Terry, father Euel Smith Jr., sister Barbara Boone, brother James Smith, brother Mike Terry, and father and mother-in-law Jim and Betty Upton.
