Lina Michelle Turner, 43, of Longview gained her angel wings on December 9, 2019. Michelle was born September 6, 1976 in Tarboro, North Carolina and was raised by her parents, Cindy and Robert. She grew up with her parents, brother and sisters. She married William L. Turner Jr. on December 13, 1997 and together they raised three girls, two boys and countless others along the way. Michelle was always one to lend a hand and bring anyone in and she didn’t think twice about it. That’s one thing that we can all agree on, she had a big ol heart. She could meet you for five minutes and if you were having a hard time, we’d all be meeting you at the dinner table later that day like you’ve been there for years. She made sure everyone felt like part of the family, no one left out, no one left behind, and no one was any better or more special than the other. She was definitely outspoken and would say whatever to whoever and didn’t care who was listening, she stuck up for everyone in any situation…even if you were wrong, she’d be on your side just for the fun of arguing with somebody for you. She was strong willed, outgoing, she marched to the beat of her own drum and didn’t care if you thought she was crazy for it. With her Harry Potter obsession, her obnoxiously loud music any time of day with songs on repeat, and those wild hair colors, she was one of a kind. She may not have had an 8-5 job but her role as a wife, mom and Mimi was a 24/7 gig to her. She was a giving parent, always making sure none of her kids went without regardless of what it was. Being a wife was something she loved and gave her all to. But being a Mimi topped everything else she’d done, all those years or disciplining us kids just to throw the rule book out the window for her grandbabies. Each one of the grandkids was special in their own way to her but she loved them more than anything. A grandma’s love is something that will be cherished forever, and I know our kids will hold on to it for life. Her legacy is continued through her husband of 22 years, William, her children Kyler, Patience, Harmonie (Dillon), Amanda (Jodell) and Devin (Christian). Her grandkids Riley, Jakoby, Savannah, Wyatt, Weston and Harleigh, her brother and sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends that were just as much family to her as the rest of us. She is joined at the heavenly gates by her mom, dad and her granddaughter McKinlea.
