Mary Frances Matthews

Funeral services for Mary Frances Matthews, 87, of Kilgore, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Highland Park Baptist Church in Kilgore.

Entombment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

When you think of Mrs. Matthews, the 31st chapter of Proverbs comes to mind, for she truly was a virtuous woman. She loved her neighbors, working in her church, teaching the beginners and teaching Sunday School. She and Mr. Matthews enjoyed spending time together sitting on the front porch. Together they were the example of what the Lord intended marriage to be. She was compassionate, kind, and the Lady of all Ladies. She truly loved the Lord and her family.

Mrs. Matthews was born August 1, 1929 to Claude and Donna Hale, and passed from this life on March 28, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Phillip L. Matthews, and a son, Gaylan Matthews. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Vickie Haynie and husband Mark; and Zann Matthews; and son, Randy Matthews and wife Lauren; grandchildren, Jacob Goode and wife Wendy; Justin Matthews and wife Amber; Randy Matthews, Jr.; Savanah Matthews; Colton Matthews; Cory Matthews; and Sonny Stallings; as well as great grandchildren, Mason; Macey; Zoe; Landon; Hayden; Heidie; and Londan; and her brother Edward Hale.

The family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 at Highland Park Baptist Church.
