Lula Stephens

Our beloved Mother, Lula May (Bobbie) Giles Stephens of Longview, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the age of 99. Bobbie was born on March 30, 1925 in Marshall, Texas and was a resident of Buckner Westminster for the past eleven years.

Mother is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Stephens. She leaves behind her children, Sharron Stephens of Klamath Falls, OR; Ellen Wedelich and husband Bill of Dolores, CO; Jane Lanagan and husband Tracy of Longview, TX; Douglas Stephens and wife Ester of Spring, TX; and Amy Burton and husband Michael of West Baden Springs, IN. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Bobbie was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church.

Mother enjoyed life to the fullest, always being the one who took care of others. All family holidays were at Fred and Bobbie's house. Mother loved her outside plants and had a green thumb that you wouldn't believe. She could put a stick in the ground and it would sprout. Her mantra was "Be Happy"

The family would like to greatly thank all the caregivers at Buckner as well as Hospice Plus for the care and attention they gave our Mother for all these years. She was loved and adored by many friends throughout her life and she will be missed.

A private family service will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home.
