JoAnn Hohrine

Our beloved, Billie JoAnn Hohrine, left her mission field on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, for her heavenly home in Glory. She was surrounded by her loved ones. She said, "Goodbye" to this world to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she loved dearly and with all of her heart and soul.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Hilton and Mattie Lou Alford; brother, Hilton Lee Alford and granddaughter, Britni Michelle Scarborough.

Surviving loved ones include her husband, James Forest Hohrine, of 67 years; daughter, Sheryl Ann Wagenseller and husband Kirby; son, James Forest Hohrine II and wife Christina; sister, Betty Jean Fenton; sister-in-law, Patti Alford; grandchildren, KC Wagenseller, Chase Wagenseller, Keilee Jo Day, Charli and Roland Vail; great grandson, Conner Rice and many extended family members.

JoAnn loved her church, Emmanuel Baptist Church in White Oak, and all of her dear friends and family created there. She loved to walk and did avidly until she had health issues that prevented her from doing so. She loved her roses and plants she nurtured inside and outside the home and in beautiful abundance. She loved to travel and see parts of the world and U.S. and was always adventurous.

In the church, she served in GA's (Girls in Action) and Awanas (Bible Scripture learning program). She had recently taught a class of older women. She participated in Vacation Bible School, because missions and outreach were part of her gifts from God. She loved working in children's church for years and enjoyed rocking the babies and teaching them of God's love. JoAnn has a great host of those who love her, and she loves them abundantly.

Pallbearers will be, Luke Altman, Charlie Dean, Randy Baker, Randale Murrell, Levi Grubbs and Robert Byerly. Honorary pallbearers will be Reese Wright and Kirby Wagenseller.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to Emmanuel Baptist Church in White Oak

Billie loved colorful flowers and bright colors. We ask attendants to wear bright colors to the service in her honor.
