Helen E. Nolen, 94, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 in Longview. A celebration of her life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at The Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. A time of visitation with her family will be from 10 a.m.-12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Helen E. Vasser was born April 14, 1925 in Chilton, Texas to George Layafette Vasser and Velma Powell Vasser. On December 21, 1947, she married Bill Nolen in Waco, Texas. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved her family beyond measure. She loved to play golf and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association as well as the Good Shepherd Ladies Auxiliary. She worked with pottery and also crocheted afghans; most of which she gave away. Helen also made baby blankets for all the great-great grandbabies. Helen will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, G.L., Billie, Bob, and Tucker Vasser; and her sister Eunice Vasser.
She is survived by her sons, George Mike Nolen (Michele) of Longview, James Craig Nolen of Terrell, and Carl Wayne Nolen of Everman; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
