Emily Dyanne Watlington

Dyanne Watlington, 73, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 in Longview. A celebration of Dyanne’s life will be held 2 pm Monday, June 24, 2019 at The Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 pm-2 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Park Cemetery.

Emily Dyanne Watlington was born June 8, 1946 in Teague, Texas to John William Meredith and Dorothy Nell Fisher Meredith. On October 15, 1965, she married Uriah Clinton Watlington. Dyanne was a homemaker and taught Sunday school at Abiding Life Baptist Fellowship. She loved teaching the children and they loved learning from her because she made it so fun for them. Dyanne was an avid baseball fan, especially when it came to her Houston Astros. When the grandchildren and great grandchildren started playing ball, she rarely ever missed a game. Her family and grandchildren were her world. Dyanne enjoyed crafting, shopping, and going to lunch with her friends. Most people would spend money on themselves when they went shopping; but not Dyanne. She was a very generous person and loved to spend money on other people. Her kindness and selflessness will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dyanne was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Peyton and John William Meredith; her son, Rickey Watlington; and her granddaughter by choice, Jacie Garcia.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Clinton Watlington; daughter, Celeste Watlington; grandsons, Justin Watlington (Heather), Robert Watlington (Cassie), and Alex Watlington (Emaleigh); great grandchildren, Devin Watlington, Justin Watlington, Jr., Hunter Watlington, Gage Watlington, Grayson Watlington, Ryan Watlington, and Ava Watlington; sisters, Sharlan West, Wanda Morris (Ronnie), and Phyllis Cooley (Steve); grandchildren by choice, Angela Garcia, Izaac Garcia, Christina Garcia-Stanley, and Ali Garcia; bonus daughter, Tammy Campos; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
