Eloise M. Garrett

Eloise was born the only child of Pastor Dave and Olive Sharp of Aztec, New Mexico. She graduated from Aztec High School in 1947 and completed her education degree at Eastern New Mexico State University.

She married Robert Henry Garrett on July 4,1953. They shared a passion that others come to a relationship with Jesus. Eloise and Robert were appointed as Southern Baptist Foreign missionaries and went to Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), Africa in 1965. They resigned overseas missions due to health. Together they bought a home at Lake Cherokee, Longview and joined Trinity Baptist Church. Eloise enjoyed teaching Bible Classes, playing the piano, speaking about Africa at camps, and volunteer missions. She love to travel and saw all 50 States plus many other countries.

Eloise Garrett was preceded in death by her parents, Pastor Dave and Olive Sharp, and her husband, Dr. Robert Garrett and Eric Quenichet. She is survived by her four children (alphabetical order): Alita (John) Goins, Bryce (Rita) Garrett, Cayla (Eric) Quenichet, and Dustin (Melanie) Garrett. Alita has two children, Amethyst (James) McArthur, and Anastasia (Micheal) Cline. Bryce has four children, Brandee (Tom) Cruz, Wendy Garrett, Keela (Gary) Artho, and DeAnn (John) Quint. Dustin has two children, Jonathan Garrett and Lydia Garrett. Eloise has seven great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, 5041 Estes Pkwy, Longview, TX 75603 followed by a committal service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 5000 W. Harrison Rd, Longview, TX 75604
