Carolyn was a devoted wife and loving mother. A military spouse for 20 years, Carolyn maintained her household through deployments, relocations, and finally retirement. She was a successful beautician throughout this time and worked various other jobs when she and her husband of 58 years, James “Butch” Jackson, moved back home to Longview, TX.
She endured hardship, uncertainty, and sadness with the same big grin and quick laugh that she shared in the best of times. Always willing to help and support those in need, many who read this will have a story of a time that Carolyn came into their lives and selflessly gave of her time and energy.
Carolyn’s slight stature and incredible smile endeared people to her and made it the goal of every child among friends and family to surpass her in height. Quick with a quip or zinger, Carolyn also had an ornery side that made her all the more loveable. She will be missed.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Noah; daughter-in-law, Amanda, granddaughter, Kate; sisters-in-law, Dessie and Barbara; brother-in-law, Glenn; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.lakeviewfh.com for the Jackson family.
