Sterling had a love for the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He felt most at home with a fishing pole in his hand. Sterling also had a love for baseball. He spent numerous hours on the field. His talent and dedication to the sport was neat to watch. The lifelong friendships that were made on those fields were an amazing time in his life.
While Sterling had many struggles in life, his dedication to his work had proven to many people who he really was. He had worked hard to become a foreman of his own landscape crew. They worked on many projects like the new UC Health hospital in Greeley. He took pride in what he did.
