Richard John Lovato

Richard John Lovato of Thornton, Colorado died April 24 at his parent?s home in Longmont. He was 35.Richard was born March 20, 1972 in Kearney, Nebraska to Frank and Mary (Cano) Lovato. He grew up in Longmont and graduated from Skyline High School. Rich took care of a nephew for several years while the nephew was growing up. He enjoyed fishing and cooking; watching professional wrestling, was a big fan of the Chicago Bears, and enjoyed watching the Rockies play baseball. Rich was a very likable person who had many friends.Rich is survived by his parents, Frank and Mary of Longmont; a brother, Stephen Lovato and his wife Jennifer of Loveland, Colorado; a sister, Karen Lovato and her companion Desmond Jones of Denver, Colorado; a grandmother, Florentine Cano of Morrill, Nebraska and seven nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary. A vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday with Deacon Michael Berens as leader. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Reverend Brian Morrow as celebrant. Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
