Patricia Mae Perley

Patricia Mae Perley (76), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully November 27, 2022 in Longmont. She was born to Justin and Agnes Hegge (née Overby) April 12, 1946 in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband (Louis Lafayette Jr.), siblings (Jermone, Cynthia, John) and daughter (Patricia Lyn). She leaves behind, with surety to meet again, her siblings Justin Jr., Gloria Berndt, Arlyce Oien, Ronald (Margret), children Celia Reeves, April, Louis (Daryllyn), Rachel Paul (Klinton), Rebecca, Amber McEwen (Gerald), Michael (Kristi), and David (Carly) as well as her cherished 22 grandchildren.

Pat’s favorite role in life was being a grandmother. She had fond memories of her own grandmother, Christina, and lived up to her desire to be as tender and caring. Much of her youth was spent hanging out with her brothers or helping out at her father’s service station. She was active in her local Lutheran parish and always held dear the faith of her childhood. After moving to Los Angeles, to live closer to her sister, Pat was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints at the age of 19. Three years later, she married her sweetheart in the Los Angeles Temple. They welcomed five children while making their home in Simi Valley, and four more children joined the family after they moved to Longmont in 1980. Once all her children were in school, Pat went to work for Longmont Dairy where she enjoyed many years of helping customers and building friendships with those she worked with. In her retirement, Pat worked at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints Denver and Fort Collins temples. Pat was a kindhearted and generous woman. She was always happiest working in her flower garden, visiting with friends and family, and doing genealogy work. Her love of the Lord gave her many opportunities to serve in her community and church. She surely earned the praise, “Well done thou good and faithful servant!” as she passed through the veil.

Special thanks are offered to all those who helped care for Pat in her final months. A viewing will be held Thursday December 1, 2022 at Howe Mortuary 439 Coffman St. from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held December 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m in the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 2200 11th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont.
