Mason Stone Sherer passed away September 23, 2018. He was 20 years old. Mason was born on October 11, 1997 to Levon and Jamie (Simick) Sherer in Boulder, CO. He graduated from Wallace County High School in Sharon Springs, KS in 2016 where he ran cross county, was Captain of the Forensics Team and the Senior Class President. Mason received a number of scholarships allowing him to attend Wichita State University studying Aero Space Engineering where he made the deans list. Mason was known for being a hard worker. As soon as he turned 14 he wanted a job and he found one washing dishes and eventually becoming a server and a line cook. During high school he attended night school and became a CNA at the Wallace County Community Care Center where he was loved by the residents and their families. Many of them speaking about his kindness and compassion for the elderly. While in Wichita he worked as a server at Cracker Barrel and made many good friends. In 2018 he moved to back home to Colorado to be near his family. Mason was very kind, compassionate, computer savvy and intelligent. He loved Colorado and anything to do with outer space and the planets. He was a deep thinker especially enjoying abstract concepts and had recently been studying Buddhism and Meditation. He was an avid reader and loved taking in more and more knowledge. He loved to argue his point and even occasionally would argue the other side of an argument just to keep you on your t s. Mason was loved by many especially his family. He is survived by his parents Levon and Jamie; his sister Saraya Sherer; and his grandparents Thomas and Henrietta Simcik and Ronald and Jamie Sherer; and his great grandmothers Marilyn Sherer and Joann Vosacek; he is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Mason was preceded in death by his great grandfathers Robert Vosacek and Robert Sherer and his great grandparents Harold and Toynette Stockard and Louis and Marvelyn Simcik.A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday September 29, 2018 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
