Marcia Joy Lierman

On July 13, 1954 Merle Leonard and Joyce Marcia welcomed their second child, their first daughter, Marcia Joy Weeldreyer. Marcia was born in Casper, WY and spent her growing up years in South Dakota with brother Doug and sisters Jan and Jill.

Marcia moved with her family to Aurora, CO and attended Hinckley High School and graduated in 1972.

In July 1974 Marcia met, fell in love with and married Terry Lierman all in three months time. The couple married on August 31, 1974 in Boulder, CO. They lived in Longmont for a few years before settling in the tri-town area where they lived for the next 46 years.

In 1991 Marcia was hired by the Town of Frederick as the Town Treasurer. She retired in 2009 and started a home-based business Bunny Express Rabbitry delivering smiles and happy times to many, many families.

Marcia is the mother of four children. Step-son David, Brian, Jamie and Tracy. Marcia loved and adored all 18 of her grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. She was the rock of the family and spent much of her time nurturing her relationships with all of us.

In April 2022 Marcia was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and after a well fought battle died on November 18, 2023.

Marcia was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband Terry G Lierman. Marcia is survived by her brother Doug Weeldreyer (Kay), sisters Jan Smith and Jill Hansen (Jeff). Children David Rumley (Sherry), Brian Lierman (Tiffany), Jamie Adamson (David) and Tracy Carbajal (Victor) and her 18 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 9029 Grand Mesa Avenue Frederick, CO 80504. A light lunch will be provided after the service at the same location.

Flowers may be ordered through any florist of your choosing and delivered directly to the church on Saturday morning prior to the service beginning.

Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary & Crematory of Longmont, Colorado.
