Marcene Behrmann Cropp was born in Vallejo, California on March 18, 1943 to Ernest and Pauline(Stamp) Behrmann. After her mother’s death in 1948 she was raised by her grandparents August and Anna Behrmann and her uncle Richard Behrmann.
She grew up on the family farm near Haystack Mountain. In 1960 Marcene graduated from Longmont High School and continued her education at Parks School of Business.
On June 2, 1962 she married her husband James Dennis Cropp. Marcene and James Dennis were married for 59 years and 9 months, 3 months shy of 60 years. Two children, Kenneth and Anna Cropp were born.
Marcene dedicated most of her life to the Civil Services, starting at the FAA where she worked as a secretary and then moved up to work in the Control Tower. She dedicated 20 years to the FAA. Marcene wanted a new change in her long career with the Civil Service. She applied at the Post Office and became a Postal Carrier, working 15 more years.
The mountains and music were two of her passions. She was an avid hiker, joining a hiking group that would trek all over our beautiful mountains. She was a talented musician. She served as the organist at Messiah Lutheran Church for over 55 years. She also sang in the choir and praise team.
Marcene dearly loved her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Marcene was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and uncle and a half brother. She is survived by her husband James Dennis Cropp, who lovingly cared for her during her extended illness. Also surviving are her children Kenneth Cropp(Ken), Anna Cropp(Myron)Uecker and sisters Janice(Dick) Dawson and Arlyn Behrmann Dirkes. Marcene is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Jamie Cropp, Samantha(Chris)Hibben, Gus Cropp, Ian Uecker and Abagail Uecker and 3 great grandchildren Hadley, Hudson and Harrison Hibben. Also surviving are brothers James and Bob and sisters Joyce, Juanita, Kathy and Linda, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for March 14, 2022 at Messiah Lutheran Church 10:00am
