Lindsey Kay Smith

Lindsey was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 18th, 1998 to Alan Dane Smith and Sharon Kay Smith. Lindsey lived in Sahuarita, Arizona until she was 6 years old and then moved to Firestone, Colorado where she spent her growing up years. She attended Prairie Ridge Elementary School and Coal Ridge Middle School where she enjoyed running track and field. She finished her education at Frederick High School in 2016. She then went on to excel in her studies at Cook Street School of Culinary Arts in 2018.

Lindsey emanated a brightness that could not be compared. She had a beautiful, contagious laugh that would light up the world around her. Her presence spread joy and comfort to everyone she knew. Lindsey found a deep appreciation for the arts as she was growing up, including drawing, painting, ceramics, and music. She developed an interest in playing the piano for several years, even composing her own song at the age of 12. From a young age, Lindsey was a natural born entrepreneur. She developed little businesses around the house including a nightclub, massage therapy clinic and bank. The most long-lived of these ventures being “Lou’s Cafe”, which transformed into a true passion for the culinary arts. Lindsey absolutely loved to be in the kitchen, creating new dishes and experimenting with flavors. She turned this passion into a flourishing career working at many well-known establishments across Colorado including the Cheese Importers, William Oliver's Publick House, Spruce Farm & Fish at Hotel Boulderado, Habit Doughnut Dispensary, and Nocturne Restaurant. When Lindsey was not in the kitchen, she loved to be outdoors, whether hiking a trail, camping with her friends, or taking long walks with her beloved animals. She raised two cats that she adored, Katherine and Debra. Most recently, she had the joy of adopting her sweet puppy, Millie.

Lindsey absolutely loved her family, and cherished being an aunt, with dreams of teaching her nieces and nephews to cook someday. She immensely enjoyed all different types of music and could frequently be found enthusiastically dancing, even if it was to a tune only she could hear. She loved to attend concerts with her friends and found great joy in the company of others. Lindsey’s adventurous spirit often led others to join her in pushing the limits in the pursuit of fun, laughter, and good times. She lived every moment of her life to the very fullest.

Lindsey is lovingly remembered by her parents; her sisters Jennifer (Tom) Walters, Jacksonville, FL and Haylie (Maurice) Segura, Carr, CO; her nephew Andrew Walters; her nieces Freyja Segura and Raegan Walters; her grandmother Barbara Miller; her aunts and uncles Vida (Dee) Frost, Tina (Ron) Fuller, Warren Miller III, Mark Miller, Robert (Janalee) Miller. She is predeceased by her grandfathers Jed Smith and Warren Miller Jr.; her grandmother Garneal Smith; and her uncle Doren Smith.
