Linda S. Paxton died peacefully March 22nd in Houston, Texas. She was 73. Born Linda Kay Lowe in Lebanon, Ohio, on September 11, 1942, she married Melvin D. Paxton, a veteran and retired U.S. Postal worker of Longmont, CO, in January 2000, and is survived by her husband, as well as her three children; Sharon Lane, Richard Schooley, and Krista Highfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Evan and Jenna Lane, and a Schooley grandchild on the way. Linda's brothers also survive her; Stephen Lowe, Kerry Michael Lowe, and Gordon Musser; as well as loving nieces and nephews. Linda's life was defined by her faith, by the love and wisdom she received from her parents, and the sheer joy she took in raising and knowing her children. She possessed an unwavering sense of goodness that was as natural as her ability to love and give to others. Linda was a writer of hand written letters, of ghost written articles, of private thoughts and shared memories. She was a baker of cookies in the mail, of cakes sent for birthdays, of desserts for the holidays. She was a singer of church choir hymns, of morning inspirations, of 1950's jukebox hits. She was a dancer who could cut the rug with the best and regularly would. She was a true friend, a loving wife, a mother and grandmother of constant and unconditional love, and an extraordinary person whose spirit brightened the lives of others. Linda Paxton was laughter and fun, a heartfelt conversation, and an endless source of encouragement and belief in others. A memorial will be held at Houston Methodist Hospital, Weiss Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 16th, at 1:00 PM. Flowers are welcome, as are financial gifts in Linda's name to Nan's House; a remarkable hospice care home in Houston, TX.Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
