As a youngster, Kevin was very ambitious and began working early in life mowing lawns or working at the local gas station. After graduating from Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Arkansas he enlisted in the United States Air Force. In 1986, he moved to Longmont from Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
Kevin spent the majority of his career in sales and warehouse management until he retired in February 2017. Following retirement, he found joy in pursuing his hobbies and interests, which included gardening and mechanics—he was a talented craftsman.
He married Amy, his best friend and love of his life, and together they made many fond memories that will be forever cherished.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 32 years, Amy Ley of Longmont; sons, Jason (Katherine) Ley of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Justin (Becca) Ley of Waterford, Michigan; daughter, Sarah Messerschmidt of Montana; brothers, Charles (Tipaya) Ley of Tigard, Oregon and Scott Culver of Oklahoma; sisters, Collette Williamson of Searcy, Arkansas, Martha Robinson of Siloam Springs, and Heidi (Stephan) Baily of Bentonville; grandchildren, Jayden Ley and Ashton Land of Waterford; brother-in-law, Nick Woerfel of Longmont; and, his two beloved Cocker Spaniels, DaVinci and Aggie, who were always by his side in the garage or on his lap under the pergola in the backyard.
