Katherine M. Rossi

Katherine was born on April 16th, 1936 here in Colorado to Stanley and Katherine Petras. She grew up in Colorado with her brother Daniel and graduated from West High School in Denver in 1954. Three years later on November 9th,1957, she married Anthony T. Rossi. They moved into their first house in Thornton, Colorado later that same year. In 1968, Anthony & Katherine moved west to Vail. After 20 years, Anthony & Katherine decided that their final home would be in Longmont, Colorado. Katherine was a dedicated housewife and mother to her 5 children: Stephen Rossi, Theresa Rossi, Daniel Rossi, Carol Rossi, and Kenneth Rossi. She and Anthony stayed happily married for 46 years until his passing on March 10, 2004.

She was a catholic who went to St. John the Baptist Church. Throughout Katherine’s life she had many adventures - visiting Las Vegas, going on road trips, and camping with her family to name a few. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially watching the wildlife and gardening. She was so dignified, always polite, putting others before herself. She died peacefully surrounded by her family.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Katherine Petras, her husband Anthony Rossi, her son Daniel Rossi (Mara Butera), and her brother Daniel Petras. She is survived by her children: Stephen Rossi (Nancy) of Frederick Colorado, Theresa Rossi of Vail, Colorado, Carol Rossi of Vail, Colorado, and Kenneth Rossi of Vail, Colorado. She leaves behind her grandchildren Billy Rossi of Hollywood, Florida, Stephanie Burns (Mike) of Firestone, Colorado, JoAnn Rossi ( Chris McCarty) of Fort Lupton, Colorado, Taylor Griego of Thornton, Colorado, her brother's children Dani Petras of Denver, Colorado and Jay Petras of Chicago, Illinois, as well as her three great grandchildren Anthony, Caiden, and Jonathan of Firestone, Colorado.

A graveside service for Katherine will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery from 2pm to 3pm. Immediately following will be a reception at Steve and Nancy Rossi's home in Frederick, Colorado.
