Janet D Olsen 79, of Longmont, Colorado passed away peacefully May 18th with her Family by her side, after a short battle with lung cancer. Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1945 and raised in La Veta, Colorado. She moved to Longmont, Colorado where she was a longtime member of the Civil Air Patrol. She was one of the first female Majors at the time. Her passions included her family, reading, crafts, floral design,and watching old westerns on TV. She is survived by her daughters Dee (Mike)Willey, and Nanci (Dennis) Christen-Loper, grandchildren Sarah, Mark, Ashley and Owen, great-grandchildren Baylee, Paige and Hunter. She was predeceased by her husband Lyle Olsen. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to the ASPCA.
