His family includes his daughters, Kimberly (Patrick) Machmuller and Kelly (Patrick) Bond, grandchildren, Mitchell (Miranda) Machmuller, Jacob Machmuller, Eric (Kass) Machmuller, Ashley (Cody) Watkins, Dillon (Kayla) Bond, Morgan (Brandon) Ruffner, 8 great-grandchildren and a 9th due next March, sister, Pat (Bob) Fickes, sister-in-law Debbie (Kurt) Sheldon, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim married the love of his life, Janice Rickman, in 1962. She precedes him in death.
Jim was born on June 11, 1941, in Denver CO to Margaret Mandelko and Edmund Harrison. He attended St. Vrain Valley Schools and graduated from Longmont High School, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He attended Mesa Jr. College in 1961. He graduated from Colorado State College in 1962 and started his teaching career at Frederick Jr. High. In 1965 he transferred to Longs Peak Jr. High, teaching for 25 years. Jim also was the head football coach and athletic director at Frederick High School for 4 years. He then coached football at Longmont High for 13 years. He started another career teaching driver's education for several years.
A celebration of life open house will be held on September 10th at Howe Mortuary from 2pm – 4pm.
