James Jim Albert Brim, died February 15, 2014 at Longmont United Hospital due to complications of pneumonia. He was 84 years old.Mr. Brim was born July 25, 1929 in Spalding, NE to Lester and Marie Brim. He graduated from Spalding High School, in 1946.During the Korean War, he served as a corporal and supply clerk in the United States Army from 1949-1951. In 1960 he graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Agriculture and began working as a chemical salesman. In 1962 he started his career with Olin Chemical Corporation as a field representative and worked for this company until 1979. He married Jacqueline Jacque Weinert on August 10, 1963. They transferred to Longmont, CO from Nebraska on February 1, 1964.He was a member of the American Legion Post 299 in Spalding, NE and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, CO.Jim became disabled in 1979 due to many back and hip ailments. His passions included fishing, hunting, reading, watching westerns, and enjoying his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Jacque, three children: Colleen Ross (Danny) of Northridge, CA, John Brim (Alea) of Mead, CO and Sheila Phillips of Loveland, CO. He was very proud of his six grandchildren: Allison and Tyler Ross, Morgan and Ashlyn Brim, Mallory and Matthew Phillips. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and four brothers: Charles, Jerry, Jack and Dan.Cremation and other arrangements are being handled by Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic church. Services will conclude at the church and lunch will be provided.
