David spent his early years in Shasta, CA, graduating from high school in 1952. Shortly after, in 1953, he joined the United States Air Force. His journey led him to a fulfilling role as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Longmont, Colorado. David later became an air traffic control supervisor. In his early years, David married Marilyn Clevenger, and together they welcomed three children: twin boys, Chris and Steve, and a daughter, Brenda. David always carried his children in his heart.
In 1976, David met and married Helen K. Webb (Phillips-Brown), whom he lovingly called his soul mate. Together, they blended their families, bringing together Helen's children with David’s. Their 46-year marriage was a testament to the power of love and commitment. Whether it was family holidays, birthday gatherings, or their many travels and snowbird adventures, David and Helen made many cherished memories.
David was an avid reader and skilled outdoorsman. He loved elk hunting, fishing, the mountains, and camping. His hands were skilled not only with a rifle and fishing rod but also in crafting beautiful southwestern style jewelry and playing the guitar. He was a natural storyteller, conversationalist, and die-hard Denver Broncos fan.
His good-hearted nature and his hardworking and fair demeanor earned him the admiration of everyone who knew him. He was a compassionate man who lived life with integrity and kindness.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Virgie Webb; his sister, Marjorie Darting; his beloved wife, Helen K. Webb; his sons, Chris and Steve Webb; and his daughter, Brenda Doherty (Webb). Though we mourn his passing, we find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with them once again.
He is survived by his step-children, Tim Brown, Terri Allen (Ron), and Debra Moore (Louis), as well as his 7 grandchildren, Amber, Tamera, Tyler, Greg, Nicole, Kevin and Ryan and 4 step-grandchildren Seth, Sara, Danielle, and Adam and 15 great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
