David Andrew “Andy” Sanger passed away on March 31, 2024. He was 51. Andy was born on August 13, 1972 in Denver, Colorado. When Andy was 1 year old, the Sangers moved to Salida, Colorado, where Andy grew up. Andy attended Salida High School, where he played football, basketball, and track. After high school, he attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska for one year before moving to Colorado State University in Fort Collins where he finished his Bachelor’s degree. Later Andy would return to CSU for his Master’s in Health Administration. At the time of his death, Andy was Executive Director at Greeley Village, an assisted living and memory care facility in Greeley. Andy was a devoted father to his children Kaylee and Justin. He loved sports, especially the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, CSU Rams, and Iowa Hawkeyes, as well as traveling, especially to Las Vegas and Mexico. He also enjoyed the outdoors - camping, fishing, and skiing. He is survived by his daughter Kaylee, son Justin, partner Jenifer Berry, stepson Ezra Berry, parents Dave and Nancy, brother Dan, nephews, Matt and Finn, niece Katie, and grandnephew Leo. A memorial for Andy will be held at Howe Funeral Home in Longmont, Colorado on April 11th at 10 am. Finding a cure for Alzheimer’s was very important to Andy; to honor that commitment, the family asks that donations in Andy’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
