Darrell Chriswell

Darrell Chriswell, 74, of Longmont, CO passed away March 5, 2015. Darrell was born on October 11, 1940 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Raymond and Louise (Petty) Chriswell.Darrell served in the US Army with the Corps of Engineers from 1963 to 1965. After being discharged, Darrell married Carol Conrad on August 19, 1966 in Iona, Idaho. Following their marriage, they relocated to Colorado and settled in Longmont in 1980.Darrell was an accomplished tool and die maker. He served an apprenticeship with Dow Chemical Precision and later worked for Coors, Sunstrand Aviation and Ball Aerospace until 1987. In 1984, Darrell started his own business, DC's Machining Products, Inc. in Longmont and retired in 2010.Darrell was a member of Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing. He enjoyed cars, hunting and fishing, his work and perhaps most of all his grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Monson.Darrell is survived by his wife Carol, son Shawn Chriswell (Kym) of Longmont, daughter Sheila Axelson (Chad) of Loveland, sisters Betty Rowe, Judy Weed, Pat Keys and Lana Baugh (Jim), all of Bosie, Idaho, 5 grandchildren Meagan, Liam, Taylor, Erynn and Jake, and sister-in-law Lee Bonas (Stan) of Birmingham, England. He is also survived by his beloved dog Lil Bit.Visitation 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday March 11, 2015 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with family present to greet friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Westview Presbyterian Church. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
