She was born in Harrow, Middlesex, England April 17, 1934 to Arthur and Edith Briggs. After graduating school, she went to work as a secretary for Kodak. Beryl married Leonard Worland on October 27, 1956. They moved to Crawley, Sussex where they had two daughters, Susan and Sally. Unfortunately, Susan passed away in 1966 after cardio surgery.
Beryl and family came to the United States in 1968, and lived in Milford, Massachusetts for six months before packing up and traveling cross country to San Diego, California. After six months, they drove to Colorado, and settled in Longmont. In 1971, son Stephen was born and joined the family.
Beryl loved writing stories and poems (which have been compiled into a book), and knitting (especially for babies). She was a member of ESA (Gamma Pi) where she was past president; and attended St. Stephens Episcopal Church where she was involved with the Altar Guild for many years. Beryl was also involved in the Longmont Theatre for many years; and also involved with the teen pregnancy organization through the St. Vrain Valley School district.
In addition to her husband Leonard, daughter Sally (David Wood), son Stephen (Lori Rae), Beryl is survived by three grandchildren, Gavin Worland, Andrew Wood (Tiffany), Brittannia (Aaron Rice), and four great grandchildren. Beryl was preceded in death by her mum & dad, brother Fred and daughter Susan.
