Carlos Samuel Cobb, 86 went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 4, 2013 in Long Beach, California. He was born the first son to Carlos and Edna Cobbs in Eldorado, Kansas on May 13, 1926. He graduated from high school at East High School in Wichita, Kansas and worked for both Beech Aircraft and Boeing Aircraft in Wichita before coming to California. He loved Fishing. He came to Long Beach, California in the 1950’s to work at the Douglas Aircraft Co. He worked as a precision grinder at Douglas for about 40 years and then retired at age 68. Most of his family including his father also worked for Douglas in Long Beach. He met his wife Anita LA Vaughn Ricketts in 1952 and they were married and had 2 sons David and Michael. He was married for over 25 years. He Lived on Fairman St. in Lakewood for over 50 years. He spent a few years after his retirement re-kindling his youth living in Eureka, Kansas but, then came back to California to finish out his life on Fairman St. where he lived with his youngest son Michael. He was a member of Truett Memorial Southern Baptist Church in Long Beach.
He was active at Lakewood Masonic Lodge for many years as well as The Eastern Star, Sciots and Grotto. He also loved square dancing and was the president of the Country Squires square dance club where he traveled to dance at clubs around California, Arizona and Nevada. He is survived by his sons David Cobb and Michael Cobb who reside in Washington and California as well as his nieces Dottie Williams and Trisha Jansma and his great nephew Matt Williams. Carlos Samuel Cobb will be missed.
