Rita Marie Brown

Rita was predeceased by her loving husband Malcolm and her son Stephen. She is survived by her daughter Karen Eakins and her son David (Claire). Cherished grandmother of Kevin (Nicole), Christopher (Lindsay) and Stephanie Jones (Joshua), great grandmother to Malcolm, Leighton, Dylan, Parker and baby-to-be Ezra. Rita was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Marie Louise (nee Ethier) Belecque, her sister Aline, and brothers Leo (Doris) and Victor (Jean). She is survived by her sisters Marguerite Ranger (Jerry - deceased), Vivianne Lebel (Larry - deceased), and brothers Dollard Belec (Louise) and Gerry "Gee Gee" Belecque (Paulette).

A very outgoing and social person, Rita will be sorely missed by her friends and the staff at Cherry Hill Retirement Village and The Waverley Retirement Residence. An avid craftsperson, she loved donating her hand-crochetted items as well as her time to various charities and organizations.

A visitation for Rita will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service (invitation only) will occur Friday, October 22, 2021 at 12:00 pm. A cremation to follow will occur. A graveside "Celebration of Life" will happen in Callander, Ontario at a later date.
