Marlyn Shirley (Campbell) Boyd

Marlyn was born in London, Ontario, on November 15, 1933, to Clayton and Mary Campbell. She married the love of her life, Ellwood Boyd, on July 24, 1954. Ellwood predeceased her in 1990.

Marlyn was the cherished mother of Wendy (Doug) Wilson, Cindy (Charlie) Ashford, Allan (Kim) Boyd, and Judy (Norm) Jarvis. She was adored by her 10 grandchildren: Scott (predeceased), David (predeceased), Jason, Jeff (Amanda), Derek (Bev), Travis (Nicole), Dustin (Linda), Allana (Jude), Julie (Josh), and Erin. She was also the proud great-grandmother to 23 great-grandchildren, predeceased by one, Leaira.

A loving companion and best friend to Peter Nidenoff for 28 years, Marlyn was also a dear sister to Joyce (Fred) Cogan, and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all the children and adults who called her Mom, Ma, Mother, Grams, and GG, as she was a second mother to so many.

Marlyn's greatest joy was her family. She treasured family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving weekends spent up North, girls' trips to Niagara Falls, Nashville, Florida, and Vegas, as well as breakfasts out with the entire family. Her outgoing and vibrant personality meant she made friends wherever she went, and her love for animals was equally boundless.

Mom was also an avid fan of Bingo and the Casino. She was passionate about hockey, from cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs to attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren’s games. Her enthusiasm and spunk will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Parkwood and the 6th floor palliative team at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care during her final days.

Marlyn's love for her family, her laughter, and her generous spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

A visitation for Marlyn will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Needham Funeral Service, 520 Dundas Street, London, ON. A service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 10:30 AM, with visitation one hour prior, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, at Needham Funeral Service. The burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Bostwick Cemetery, Hamilton Road, London, ON.
