Chris, Sylvia and Bill,
Please accept my condolences to you and your families on the passing of your Mom.  She  was a wonderful woman, with a great sense of humor.  She was also a good listener and always seemed to know the right thing to say. It is said that your greatest contribution, is the ones you leave behind.  She has left quite a legacy.

A visit to Aunt Joan and Uncle Harold's home was always a great treat for my brother, Fred, and me when EVERYONE was so much younger. Christine and Billy were still living at home. My mom and dad (brother of Harold) would take us visiting all my dad's families in the London area in the evenings leading up to Christmas. This was such a special time of fellowship and fun especially with Aunt Joan as the hostess.
  
This past week as I told my children (Scott, Dean and Robin) about the passing of my Aunt Joan, each of them had similar memories of the wonderful hostess that Joan was whenever my own family later in life would continue with these visits during the 1970 - 1980's after so many changes had occurred in Joan's household. Christmas time continued to be so special to her's  and my family. All of Joan's family would be back to London at her house and yet, in the midst of all the "hullaboo" of so many people all getting together at one time in her home, Joan was the model of patience and caring; so lovable! My boys also remember her welcoming ways as they were taken over to the house to swim in the pool in the summer months.

A great and wonderful lady has left us, but we  have the beautiful memories.

Your mom was such a big part of my teens (my "PMum")...working with me at (and often driving me to) my first job for Parnell Foods, watching The Young and The Restless together every day, teaching me to crochet (and often scolding me ~ nicely ~ for poking her chair with knitting needles), and letting me play Optimist Bingo with her (while everyone stayed OFF the phone, just in case!)...and over the years when I saw her less often, just knowing she was there, passing by and seeing her light in the front window, was a comforting feeling.

These wonderful memories will stay with me always, and she will be greatly missed!

I am so very sorry to learn Joan has passed away.  What a wonderful friend and neighbour.  I so enjoyed our talks & she kept so up-to-date with events and was very mentally sharp with a great sense of humour.  You are so fortunate to have had her for in your life for a wonderfully long time.  Joan loved all of her family, was so proud & I feel as though I know all of you through our many chats.  She will be missed.

We are so sorry for your loss everyone.  I so enjoyed spending time in Joan,’s company any time the occasion arose. Her warmth, friendliness, wittiness, smiles and laughter made her a delight to be with. She  always warmed my heart.  You are all very lucky to have such an amazing woman in your family. Your memories will be there to comfort you. Laugh together, cry together, remember together and as a family mourn and move forward together standing on the support of all who love you.
