Peacefully at home after a six-month battle with cancer, Doreen Rose White (nee Sanderson) of Dutton, Ontario, formerly of London Ontario in her 85th year. Loving wife of the late Allen John for 53 years before his passing in 2011.
Dear mother of Kathy (Walt), Bill (Teri) and Lisa (Kenny). Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Sister to Delight (Clare), Nancy (Sid), Bob (Shirley). Sister in law to Chris (John), Betty (Duncan), Jerry (Pat), Ted (Karen), Jean (Mike) and Jan White, and missed by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mom’s (GG Sprinkles’) mind was clear to her last days even as her body gave way. She talked about being with Dad again, reminiscing about fishing and boating on Callander Bay and Lake Ontario, winters in Panama City Beach and their retirement home on the pond at Grand Cove Estate. She loved working at West Ferris High School in North Bay in the 80’s where she could keep an eye on us and the teachers and students who were a big part of her life. She appreciated her friends at Caledonia 2 where she lived comfortably. When we visited her or talked on the phone the last months of her life, she reminded us to take care of each other and cherish time together.
Thank you to her dear friend Kelly Milligan, and all Mom’s PSW’s. She always looked forward to your visits. Thanks to Dr. Mardell, staff at the West Elgin Community Health Centre, Care Partners, nursing staff and Mom's palliative care team.
Visitation is on Thursday July 21st, 2022 from 4pm to 7 pm at Needham Funeral Home (520 Dundas St. London, Ontario) where there will be a short service beginning at 7pm.
