Wally waldo .

You left us too soon. I think of you very often and i share a tear. We did so much together and when i was out of town working and it was  your bday on remberance day  Nov 11th  i would always call you at the bar honeys pizza Collect of course...and every year i  would ask you .... Are you still alive and wish you a happy bday to my Brother.
We traveled so much together for hockey ball holland belgium Vegas many times arizona Toronto montreal niagara  vancouver banff  enderby kelowna edmonton regina and lots of small towns for weekend ball or hockey...all great memories because of you waldo.

Miss you very much waldo  ....its not the same with you not around .Miss  your humor and one line zingers and your diccionario of wallerisms. I dont  do sambuccaa anymore your not around..not the same. Brings me tears miss you very much buddy.

It is with sadness that only today that I learned of Brian's passing . Brian's laughter and one liners will always be remembered . His joy for life made him special to be around. As a team mate with the Toronto Maple Leaf ball club Brian was a strong leader. May you be at peace.

Just found out today that Wally had passed away.So many stories to remember
of playing baseball with him when he first moved out west.Also had a chance to do a road trip to Lake Tahoe with him,so many great memories from that trip alone

I just found out about this site to give tribute to my Uncle Brian.  I still cannot believe that he is gone.  I miss him and have been thinking of him quite frequently.  Since I was a little girl, I used to love when he came to Toronto to visit.  I always remembered him to be so funny.  He was quick and witty with his responses and always knew how to keep the joke rolling.  I loved that he could poke fun at himself just as much as he made me the brunt of his jokes.  We were the 'blondes' of the family and I always had a special connection with him.  I am glad he got to meet my husband and my son.  It is such a shame that the time I had with him in Ontario did not last longer.  I will always remember our family trip to Calgary.  It was from then that I chose the hospitality industry as a career path just because of my time I spent with him at Honey's Pizza.  When I had the chance to cook for him more recently, I just wanted him to be impressed and I think he was!  I wish that we could have spent more time together Uncle Brian but I will always remember watching you play baseball at Christie Pits, hitting the gym with you in Collingwood and the Christmas you spent with us in Grand Bend.  I know you are in a better place now and I will always keep you close to my heart.

I don't know where to begin but suffice it to say that Brian(or Wally or Waldo to lots of other folks)was the funniest  man I ever met.From day one, I knew he had a sense of humour and wit not to be matched by anyone.He had a heart of gold,accomplished many things he set out to do in life and lived life to the fullest.With his down to earth attitude,his exceptional skills as a baseball and hockey player,he touched more lives than one could imagine.He fulfilled his dream of opening Honey's Pizza and to most he was the friendly face everyone came to see and the pizza was a bonus.If anyone could have run for Mayor....Wally could

Very sad to hear Wally has passed.  Too many great memories... yet not enough as he left us way too soon. I will never forget the hours spent chatting through the pass through window at Honeys and laughing at his wit while he cooked. Baseball trips were a whole other story, as he made you laugh for an entire long weekend or more. Rest in peace my friend

Many great stories & memories to remember from the Honey's days.

Saddened to hear of Wally's passing.  Always enjoyed dropping by Honey's Pizza for a chat and a laugh.  Unfortunately I am out of the country on Feb 20.

A memorial for Wally will be held Saturday February 20th, 2016 at the blind monk in Calgary. 918-12 Ave SW. 
We all wanted a Honey's Reuinion, its unfortunate that it had to be for a reason like this but Wally wouldnt have it any other way. This will be the reuninon of a life time, We will be celebrating the life of Wally (Brian Walters). Wally brought all of us together throughout the years, and because of him we will all be together again! Lets share some stories, buccas and kokanees in honor of Wally!

Wally, you were a great friend, great teammate and your wit always made you a fun guy to be around. You will be deeply missed by many, but have left a legacy of many great stories and one-liners that will continue to be recanted with fond memories.

Wally was always ready to lend a hand, make you laugh and make you feel comfortable. Always a class act and I was always excited to visit Honey's Pizza and bar and chew the fat....will miss you sir....

Wally, too many good times & memories to count...we will always have Europe, Vegas...A true friend & great partner, we miss you down here! You were one of a kind & it was my gain to have known you. Now it's a relief that a cold beer & a warm chair will be waiting for me when we meet again.

Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend and former partner Brian Walters. So many great memories of our time spent living and working together in Calgary. Wally was a great athlete, true friend and fantastic business partner. You were a great friend and a loyal Calgary Cardinal teammate. Matthew and I will always remember the tournaments away, especially Enderby and Kindersley. 
We loved your sense of humour - to its victims you'd say "Like lambs coming for the slaughter." Just so true!

Wally was a great friend to us and we will miss him. He had a way of making everyone around him feel at ease. Over the years we had the opportunity to take several vacation trips together across Canada and to the US to play baseball and golf. Wally ensured that these trips were always entertaining. Thanks for the memories my friend.

I am sad to hear this news. Brian's humour will be missed but will live on in the retelling. Brian was not only an exceptional athlete, but a mentor who challenged me to be the best that I could be back in our younger days. I'll  never forget that. Best memories will be the times when we cohabited in our single days and the trips to Lauderdale in his new Company Car. "Brian, I truly hope you are at peace my friend".

Very sorry to hear about Wally. He and I go back a long ways. I remeber when we played against each other in high school basketball and then we were at U of T together.  We went to several Maple Leaf baseball games as my brother in law Michael Sanford played and later managed the team. We moved out west in 1980 to Saskatoon but found out that Wally went west also to Calgary and opened Honey's Pizza.  If we ever travelled through Calgary we would stop by, have a pizza and have some great talks. Same when I was in Calgary for business I would always try and get there. We moved to Calgary in 2005 and I would take my kids there also and various people I worked with.  Wally will be missed.

Wally, you were everybody's friend and always great to be around.    You made us all laugh and brought us together for many different occassions.    You will be missed by all who knew you.    Rest in Peace my friend.

Brian (Waldo/Wally) was a funny guy with a dry sense of humour.  He was also a VERY good baseball and hockey player.  For years we competed against each other and whenever he appeared at the plate, I gave him plenty of respect.  Then I was fortunate enough to play WITH Brian on the Cardinals and we won three consecutive provincial championships together.  His contribution was enormous.  I can't count the many enjoyable hours shooting the breeze with Brian at Honey's Pizza.  Heartfelt condolences to all who were fortunate to have known "Waldo".

We are saddened by the loss of our nephew and cousin Brian. Brian and George had a special bond as cousins and it started from an early age.  He was part of our extended family being the second son of my Father's sister.  We remember him as being an extraordinary athlete, his laugh and stories about the "good old days."  We all enjoyed it when he came to visit George and I know that Brian did as well. They would watch and talk about sports for hours. You were special to us Brian and we will all miss you. A cousin is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost. Rest in Peace Brian.
