Ronald W. Hinkle, age 81, of Wayne, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Loving brother of Donna (John) Thomas. Beloved uncle of Jill (Martin) Austin. He will also be missed by many cousins.
Ronald was preceded in death by parents Robert and Dorothy Hinkle and brother Johnny Hinkle.
Ronald graduated from Plymouth High School ahead of serving in the Army during the Vietnam War. He spent 30 years at Annapolis Hospital in Wayne, Michigan as a maintenance worker before his retirement. He was a fan of car shows and was the proud owner of a 2013 GMC Sierra, which he loved to decorate with his Vietnam Veteran memorabilia.
Contributions in his memory may be directed to the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, who took great care of him during his final days.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 17, from 3:00-8:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152. Friends and family will continue to gather Saturday, May 18, from 9:30-10:00am, followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:00am. A live stream of the service will be available. A committal service with military honors will take place Saturday at 1:00pm at Oakview Cemetery, 1032 N Main St., Royal Oak, MI 48067, where he will be laid to rest.
