Robert Ernest Bonser, age 88, of Livonia, Michigan passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. Robert was born December 3, 1933 to Ernest and Vera (Ralph) Bonser in Detroit, Mi the third of four children. He spent his childhood summers in the family home of Caseville. Robert graduated from McKenzie High School in Detroit.
Robert served in the military, U.S. Navy, as a radar specialist during the Korean War. He met his beautiful bride and wife Johanna Jago, in high school where they danced and cleared the floors with their jitterbug.
After the Navy, he began his lifetime career in the automotive industry. Robert worked at General Motors for 40 years as a wood model maker. He coached baseball and was a boy scout leader. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to go fishing, bowling, playing cards and shuffleboard. He loved his Irish heritage and would tell you. He was a proud father and loved to brag about how many grandkids and great grandkids he had.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife Johanna.
Robert is survived by his daughters Deborah Ferris and Kathleen (David) Crumbacher; sons Robert (Suzanne) Bonser, David (Beth) Bonser and Jeffrey (Amy) Bonser; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
