Mary Bernice Rich

Mary Bernice Rich was born on June 28, 1933 in Bad Axe, Michigan to Bernard and Marie Walsh. She passed away January 10, 2017 in Farmington Hills, Michigan at the age of 83. Mary was raised on the Walsh Farm near Port Austin, Michigan. She was predeceased by her siblings Allan, Donald, Richard, Joseph, George, and Rita.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Robert. Beloved mother of Colleen (Steve) Gum, Kevin (Patti) Rich, Brian (Mary) Rich, and Patricia (Jason) Keith. Dear grandmother of Connor, Sarah, Maura, Brianna, Forrest, Brody, Shane, Nolan, Kayla, and Meghan. Mary worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years and also as a Detroit Police officer for 10 years. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12 from 4-8pm, with a Rosary Service at 7pm, at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 37000 Six Mile Road in Livonia. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 13 at 10am (in-state at 9:30am) at St. Priscilla Catholic Church 19120 Purlingbrook in Livonia. Mary will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorials can be made in Mary’s honor to the American Diabetes Association.
