Johnnie Winston

Johnnie Winston, age 83, passed away on May 23, 2018 in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Born on September 20, 1934, in Jefferson County, Alabama, to the late Thomas and Emma Winston. Beloved husband of Charlesetta Winston for 20 wonderful years. Loving father of Geraldine (Leonard) Moultree, Valerie Winston, John (Dominique) Winston, and Brenda Underwood. Cherished grandfather of Isaiah Robinson, John Winston II, and Marquette Winston. Dearest brother of Frances, Wallace, and the late Alice, Doretha, Henry, Major, and Thomas.

Johnnie was a US Marine Corps Veteran and an avid golfer and reader. He often enjoyed listening to music, especially Bob Dylan, watching westerns, or even playing the lottery. Johnnie was very devoted to his faith and remained involved in his church. Most importantly, he loved his family.

Johnnie will lie in state on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, beginning at 10am, until the time of service beginning at 11am at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 14175 Farmington Rd, Livonia. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
