Jane Merrill Carpenter

She was the beloved wife of the late Royce who passed away before her in 1995. Loving mother of James (Deborah), Cris (Zsoka), Dean (Rhonda) and Todd (Sharon). Dear grandma of Adam (Audrey) Carpenter, Cali Carpenter, Peter Graffy, Chad Carpenter, Ellen Carpenter, Dina Graffy, Kyle Carpenter, Evan Carpenter, Corinne Carpenter, Meghan Carpenter, Michael Carpenter and Kristin Carpenter. Great-grandmother of Abrianna Carp and Riley Carp. Jane will also be missed by her life long friend Doris Scharfenberg, with whom she extensively traveled by train across the country. Jane was an animal lover and was very close with her dogs Duchess and Cyndee.

Jane was a Medical Technologist for Merrill Medical Laboratories, her family business. Once she retired, she became a pharmacy tech for Beacon Hill Pharmacy in Beverly Hills, Michigan.

In her younger years, Jane was an avid sailor. She and her father Lionel sailed Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. She loved the Upper Peninsula spending many summers at the cabin her father built in Naubinway, Michigan. Jane was a long time member of Unity Church in Livonia, Michigan. She loved to socialize and had an ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face she met. She loved anything having to do with lighthouse art, visiting several of them around Michigan. However, Jane’s biggest joy was her family.

There will be a Memorial Service at Unity Church in Livonia on Saturday, June 1, 2013.
