Loving mother of Douglas (Suzanne) Patton. Dear grandma of Amanda (Jeff) Hulbert and Ryan Patton (Thomas Qualls). Dearest great-grandma of Miles Hulbert and Cora Hulbert. Geneva is preceded in death by her late husband of 49 years, John Patton and her infant son Brian Patton.
Geneva was a woman before her time. Geneva was truly a trailblazer, graduating from college at the age of 60, a testament to her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. For over 30 years each, Geneva dedicated herself to two distinguished careers, serving as an accountant for the Air Force and later excelling in the field of tax accounting.
A devoted member of the Presbyterian faith, Geneva's spirituality guided her, and she served as an elder for the church, embodying the principles she held close to her heart. Her involvement extended beyond the church, as she became an integral part of the Troy Illinois Park Board, contributing to the community she cherished. In 2007, Geneva embraced a new chapter in Michigan, where she resided at Fox Run. Far from slowing down, she immersed herself in various activities, including the remarkable feat of learning Italian at the age of 90. Her zest for life and continuous pursuit of knowledge inspired all who knew her.
Geneva Patton leaves behind a legacy of resilience, faith, and a passion for lifelong learning. She will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to have shared in her extraordinary journey. May she rest in eternal peace.
A visitation for Geneva will be held Friday, December 22, from 5:00 pm-6:00pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48152, followed by a funeral service beginning at 6:00pm.
