Daniel Francis Crowley, 93, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on February 7, 2024 in Livonia, Michigan. He was born on December 13, 1930 in Detroit. Daniel was a beloved father, devoted husband, and cherished friend.
Dad was known for his joyful and outgoing nature. He had a contagious laughter that resonated wherever he went, and everyone loved him for it. He had a passion for crossword puzzles and could complete them with ease. His love for the racetrack brought excitement and thrill to his life. Dad also had a penchant for watching TV shows, especially the ghoul and creature feature channels on channel 50. He always found a way to make his loved ones laugh and shared many joyful moments with them.
As a devoted father, Dad was always there to lend a helping hand. When Patty battled cancer, he accompanied her to the hospital every day for 30 consecutive days, even in the harsh winter of 1978. He ensured that his daughter never missed a day of work at Montgomery Ward, taking her there himself. Dad’s dedication and love for his family knew no bounds.
Dad and Mom enjoyed their retirement years, traveling the world together. From Ireland to Greece, Russia to Australia, Japan to Hawaii, they explored the beauty and diversity of different cultures. Dad’s faith was an integral part of his life, and he attended mass every Sunday. He was a proud founding member of the Knights of Columbus since 1953.
Dad will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family. His laughter and presence brought immense joy to their lives. A celebration of Dad’s life will take place on February 23 at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, located at 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152. The viewing for family will be from 1-2 PM, followed by public viewing from 2-8 PM. A special presentation on celebrating Dad’s life from Jimmy from 5:30 to 7 PM, where friends and family are welcome to share funny stories and memories.
On February 24, from 10:30 to 11 AM, Dad will be viewed at St. Michael the Archangel Church, located at 11441 Hubbard, Livonia, Michigan 48150. A Mass will follow at 11 AM, and further details will be determined. Following the service, a luncheon will be held to honor Dad’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org/. The family hopes to contribute towards finding a cure for this devastating disease.
