Stephen Maybaum, 90, of Short Hills, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Born on January 7, 1934, and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Stephen has lived in Short Hills for the past forty years. A graduate of Penn State University, he founded, owned and operated his own business, Harborchem of Cranford, NJ for 47 years.
Stephen enjoyed the simple things in life: maintaining a routine, chocolate ice cream, and enjoying weekly meals with his family. He belonged to the Essex Fells and Greenbrook Country Clubs, and was a member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun since 1970.
Stephen was the loving husband to Sue Maybaum (nee Silver) for a wonderful 65 years, loving father of Margie Myers, Richard Maybaum (Lauren), and Nancy Bloch (Meric), father-in-law to Jonathan Myers, devoted grandfather to Lindsey (Justin Saphirstein), Scott (Silvie Saltzman) and Matthew Myers, Hayley, Alison, and Will Maybaum, and Daniel and Jacob Bloch, proud great grandfather of Callie Saphirstein, and cherished brother of Rosemary Levin.
