P.C. John

Mr. Paruthical Chacko John (PC John), beloved husband of Ammal John, was born May 23rd, 1941 in a humble home in Thalavady, Kerala, India. Despite losing his father at the age of 7, PC John found the resources he needed to educate himself and enjoyed a high-ranking position with the state government of Kerala that demanded he travel far and wide where he would eventually meet the love of his life while far from Thalavady.

In 1971 PC left his beloved home and settled with his wife and infant son in New Jersey. He was a founding member of one of the first Orthodox Churches in America and enjoyed a long and successful career at The University of Medicine and Dentistry. He was the beloved father to his own family as well as the spiritual and cultural leader of a generation of people here in America as well as back in Kerala. He and his wife were part of the first wave of families who came to America and in turn supported many friends and family in their own efforts to come to the US. PC John was a remarkable, complex man who at once combined confidence with humility, style with stoicism, and orthodoxy with adventure. He was both brilliant and charismatic at once and never failed to win the love and trust of all who were lucky enough to work, worship, and live in his presence.

PC John passed on March 8th, 2024, surrounded by his devoted family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ammal John, his three children, Tito John, Tina Rose, and Tisha Stellato, and his 5 grandchildren Justin and Ryan John, Tyler and Alexandra Rose, and Richard Stellato.
