Born in Newark to the late Violet and Anthony Petrucci, Jerry has lived in Bloomfield since 1956.
He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and served in the NJ National Guard for 6 years.
Jerry spent 37 years employed by General Instrument and 19 years as a mail clerk for Herbert L. Jamison before retiring in 2016. He also worked many years for the Star Ledger.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family when he wasn’t sleeping. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for always telling the longest jokes. Jerry was an amazing dancer, everyone looked forward to watching him and Joanne on the dance floor.
He had great taste in clothes and shoes and you could smell his cologne from a room away. He loved playing cards and having breakfast at the diner with his Best man Sammy. He enjoyed coaching soccer as well as his many aquariums.
Jerry also enjoyed spending time with his most cherished grandchildren. You could always find Papa at a soccer or baseball or softball game and even at a dance or cheer competition. Anyone who was lucky enough to have met him will forever be touched by his kind
He is survived by his beloved wife Joanne (nee Fiscello) Petrucci, loving children Anthony Petrucci and his wife Dawn and Lisa Freid and her husband Eric, and cherished grandchildren A.J. and Olivia Petrucci and Evan and Emma Freid.
In an effort to keep family and friends safe from COVID 19, there will be no formal viewing at the funeral home.
The family invites you to join them for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 12 PM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 63 Franklin Street, Belleville, NJ, followed by the interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 712 Grove Street, Upper Montclair, NJ.
Arrangements are under the direction of the LaMonica Memorial Home, Livingston, NJ.
