Helen Rosenthal

This beautiful gal from Queens, met and fell in love with Robert Rosenthal, an artsy guy from Brooklyn. They settled in Bellmore, Lawng Island (said in her strong accent), and their love blossomed into their three children, Larry, Michele and Steven.

Helen taught us many things, like to always eat our veggies, so we would grow up big and strong (we did). To sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite (we would, and they wouldn't.) And that her kisses on our boo-boos could heal anything (and they did). But most importantly, Helen taught us that unconditional love does truly exist.

Her true New York love story of over 60 years to husband Robert (whom she affectionately called Bob) eventually found its way to Greenbriar at Whinningham in Monroe Township, NJ. There they found a second lease on life. Then they finally settled in Boca Raton Florida after years of snow-birding.

Helen loved her white zinfandel, playing the slots in AC, taking cruises with our dad, and having on red lipstick, and red painted nails. She also loved hearing the birds sing, face-timing with Rosie the dog on long walks and giving us "the glance" which we all knew meant quit it.

But most of all she loved her little, but ever-growing family. Starting with her oldest son, Larry Rosenthal, and his growing life out in California, her youngest son Steven Rosenthal, and wife Keira Rosenthal, and youngest grandchildren Lila and Sam. And of course, her close special bond with her daughter Michele Wendel, the mother of her first two grandchildren Jennifer and Jason.

We’d like to think she’ll be watching over her little, but ever-growing family forever.

Helen Rosenthal will be laid to rest on Thurs. Aug. 6, 2020, 11:30a.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery 1098 Woodbridge Center Dr., Woodbridge, NJ 07095 When you enter the cemetery, follow the signs for the administration building and everyone should wait in their vehicles outside of the office.
