Omer Derrell Dreher (also known as O.D. or Derrell) 94, of Little Rock, passed away on July 16, 2021. He lived his whole life in the Ironton Community of Little Rock, AR. He was born on October 19, 1926 to the late George and Laura Bailey Dreher. He was a lifetime member of Ironton Baptist Church and became a Deacon in 1980.
Mr. Dreher graduated from Fuller High School, Sweet Home, AR in 1944. He joined the Navy and served from October 1944 to March 1946. He was Seaman First Class on the USS Mathews in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and was Construction Superintendent on many landmark buildings in Little Rock and across the state.
He married Frankie McCumpsey Dreher on August 12, 1950. They enjoyed many retirement years camping, traveling, attending school and sports activities with their children and grandchildren. They made multiple Mission Trips with the Church and were always active in projects with the Church.
He is survived by children; Linda Russenberger (Frank), Marsha Robertson (David), Virginia Pollard (Stanley), Darlene Davis (Dennis) and Bill Dreher (Renae); 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Especially close to him these last years were; Shirley Maus, Mildred McGinness, Eugene Dreher, Gary Dreher and Lorene Page. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Frankie Dreher, his parents, three brothers Edward Dreher, Floyd Dreher and Charlie Dreher and a sister Hazel Johnson.
Graveside Service will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5N in Alexander by Rev. Dr. Sidney Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ironton Baptist Church Building Fund, 14718 Ironton Cutoff Road, Little Rock, AR 72206.
