Cil, as she was best known, enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, painting, gardening, and shopping. She had a loving and generous heart. Most of all, she loved spending time with her dogs and cats. Even wild racoons and stray cats knew where to go for a quick bite to eat. She loved animals of all kinds and would talk about them lovingly as though they were her children.
She would often be found reading her Bible and playing hymns on the piano. Cil never met a stranger and volunteered at St. Vincent’s Infirmary for a number of years. Her laughter was infectious and she enjoyed sending cards to friends and family. The family could always count on Cil to make her infamous coleslaw every Christmas and Thanksgiving. Her laughter was infectious and she was known for those long goodbyes where you were always guaranteed to hear “well, bye” at least a dozen times before she actually left. May you rest in peace and know you will be remembered fondly until we are one day reunited once again.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1-3. Amen.
