Ted was born November 8, 1977 in Allentown, PA to Ted and Kathy Parcel. He attended Emmaus High School and the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Biology. Ted attended medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his general surgery year in Philadelphia at Graduate Hospital followed by his orthopedic surgery residency in Harrisburg, PA with Pinnacle Health Hospitals (now UPMC). With an interest in hip and knee replacement, he spent an additional year of training in Tampa, FL with the Florida Orthopedic Institute.
Ted and his wife Amy met in North Myrtle Beach in 2004 and were married in 2006 in High Point, NC. Together they have 5 children. Twin girls, Ava and Ella age 14, twin boys, Luke and Conner age 10, and Reid age 5.
Ted was an athlete who competed in baseball, soccer and swimming. He loved Philadelphia sports and attended the Eagles-Rams playoff game in St. Louis and attended Super Bowl LII with his brother and best friends when the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots.
He always liked to do things together as a family including travel, amusement parks, church, going to the beach, going out on the boat and much more, but, to Ted, the priorities with God-Family-Job-Country were without change. Keeping this in the proper order helped keep him centered on faith and family.
Services will be held at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church in North Myrtle Beach at 1:30 pm on April 3. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Fight CRC at https://fightcolorectalcancer.org/ or to Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church at https://oceandrivechurch.org
He touched and impacted so many lives professionally and personally. He will be celebrated, remembered and missed by all.
